FIJI
We recently presented a new ministry that we are excited to support, Fiji Bible College. As we seek to learn more about Fiji Bible College, we encourage you to watch the recording of our presentation, check out their website, or review the overview page we have created on our website.
As we begin partnering with Fiji Bible College, we desire to join them in prayer as well. One current prayer request for the school lies in an ambitious project to reach a significant number of leaders throughout the Pacific. The Methodist Church is the largest denomination in Fiji, accounting for 60% of all Christians and 35% of all Fijians. Recently, a graduate of Fiji Bible College was named to a high-ranking position in the Methodist Church of Fiji, and Dr. Naraynan Nair hopes to work with him to help train 1,000 lay preachers in the Methodist Church through Fiji Bible College.
This project would bear significant fruit for Fiji and the surrounding Pacific islands. The college faces challenges both in getting the project approved and funded, as they anticipate it will cost about $100 for each student to be trained.
HOW to pray
Pray that Dr. Narayan’s contact in the Methodist Church of Fiji would be willing to work with and adopt Dr. Narayan’s plan. Pray that the Methodist Church as a whole would be supportive as well.
Pray that God would provide the funds to support this project.
Pray that God would use the funds Redemption Hill is sending to Fiji Bible College to further the ministry of equipping pastors to lead churches biblically and effectively.
Pray that God would sustain the leaders of Fiji Bible College:
Dr. Narayan Nair and family
Dr. Premend Choy and family
Michael Seehusen and family.
Mexico
Brian is praising the Lord for the blessings he poured out through the Conferencia Portavoces in El Fuerte. The conference hosted nearly 500 men from many different countries and provided the context for Brian and others to challenge, encourage, and equip these hundreds of pastors from throughout Latin America. It also allowed many of the men whom Brian has taught as Pastoral Residents to return to Mexico and enjoy a time of fellowship with the churches in Mochicahui and Los Mochis.
The local churches in Sinaloa are growing and flourishing. Brian is hosting classes on Tuesday evenings to explain a Biblical understanding of church membership. There is an influx of new attendees in Mochicahui, which is an answer to prayer as many previous members had switched to the new church plant in Los Mochis. Brian is also teaching seminary classes online on Thursdays, allowing him to continue raising up a new generation of church planters and leaders.
How to pray
Pray that God would continue to strengthen and grow the churches in Sinaloa.
Pray for Brian as he trains and equips church leaders both virtually and in person in Mexico.
Pray for Danyel as she joins her husband Brian in serving in various capacities in the church plant.
Pray for the entire team helping to plant the church in Los Mochis:
Pastor Antonio de la Cruz and wife Alicia
Pastoral Resident Tony de la Cruz, wife Avi, and family
Pastoral Resident Yosimar Moya, wife Paula, and family
Deacon Seth, wife Mavy, and family
Deacon Will, wife Jasmin, and family
Brazil
The Johansens have returned to Brazil after rejoicing in the birth of their new grandson in Kansas. They are excited to continue ministering in the church in Aracaju and are praying that God would sustain their current leaders and raise up new ones in Brazil, Portugal, Mozambique, and around the world.
How to pray
Pray that Roger would have strength and patience to continue enduring his Pre-Parkinson’s symptoms and that doctors would have wisdom and skill in diagnosing and treating it.
Pray for the children of the Johansens and the Maias as they study:
Juliana Johansen as she finishes her first year of college in West Virginia.
James Johansen as he studies in high school in Aracaju.
Marcos Maia as he studies in a Bible School in the Amazon.
Pray for the leadership in Aracaju:
Pastor Roger Johansen.
Pastor Eriomar Maia.
