Operation Christmas Child
This year, we are once again providing shoeboxes for anyone who would like to pack them for Operation Christmas Child. This is a ministry that sends gifts and the gospel to children all around the world, and we can participate by packing a box and returning it to church by November 15 so it can be shipped out. Stop by the table in the lobby this Sunday to get a box and information!
October 17 - Stand Firm Conference
Ascend Church in Olathe, KS is holding a one-day event called the Stand Firm Men’s Conference this Saturday, October 17, from 8:00am to 3:30pm. The conference aims to challenge men to follow Christ’s example of mature manhood. Pastor JD will be speaking at this year's conference. The cost to attend is $50, and you can find out more and register by clicking the link below.
October 18 - Outdoor Youth Event
Our youth will gather this Sunday night, October 18, at 5:30pm for a night around a bonfire enjoying the autumn. We will roast hot dogs and s’mores, worship together around the fire, and pursue a biblical understanding of God’s Word. The Vansell's will host the bonfire at their home in Topeka. October 24 - Men’s Theology Group
Our men are invited to join us on Saturday, October 24, at 7:00am as we begin a study through the book Spiritual Leadership by J. Oswald Sanders. This is a fantastic resource to help us think through the biblical calling of leadership in our lives. We encourage you to pick up a copy of the book and read chapters 1-5in preparation for our time together.
October 24 - Kids’ Clothing Swap
We invite you to join us for a kids’ clothing swap at Redemption Hill on Saturday, October 24th, from 10am-12pm. Bring your clean, folded children’s clothes to the commons, where we will lay everything out and give the opportunity to exchange things with one another. October 25 - Ladies Fellowship
Our next Ladies Fellowship will be on Sunday, October 25th from 6-8pm at the church. These events are a favorite and a great way to get to know other women in the church. We will fellowship over food, hear testimonies from Julie Harris and Stephanie Jacobs, and break up into groups to pray for each other as we seek to grow as disciples of Christ. November 1 - Church Plant Meeting
As we continue to prepare for planting a church in Topeka, we are meeting on the first Sunday night of each month to discuss plans, answer questions, and work towards God’s purposes for our church. Our next meeting will be on Sunday, November 1, at 6:30pm at Redemption Hill. If you are interested in participating in the church plant, we especially encourage you to attend, but we also desire anyone in our church to join us as we work together towards this goal.
November 7 - Ladies Bible Study
We will continue our ladies’ study on Saturday, November 7 at 9:00am. This year we are studying Conscience by Andrew Naselli and J.D. Crowley. This resource walks through the Bible’s teaching about the often overlooked reality of our consciences, describing what they are and how we should use them. To prepare for this month’s study, please read chapter 3. We hope you’ll join us!
