September 27 - Church Picnic
We invite you to join us this Sunday night, September 27 at 5:00pm to enjoy a church picnic. Weather permitting, we’ll meet outside to enjoy a potluck dinner, yard games, and great fellowship. This is a great opportunity to deepen your relationships with others in our body as you talk over a meal or toss a frisbee around. We will provide paper products, plasticware, and drinks. We ask that families bring enough of a main dish to feed your family plus one, and that those attending as individuals bring either a side or dessert to share. Please bring a few lawn chairs and/or a blanket for yourself as well.
October 3 - Ladies Bible Study
We will continue our ladies’ study on Saturday, October 3 at 9:00am. This year we are studying Conscience by Andrew Naselli and J.D. Crowley. This resource walks through the Bible’s teaching about the often overlooked reality of our consciences, describing what they are and how we should use them. To prepare for this month’s study, please read chapter 2. We hope you’ll join us!
October 4 - Church Plant Meeting
As we continue to prepare for planting a church in Topeka, we are meeting on the first Sunday night of each month to discuss plans, answer questions, and work towards God’s purposes for our church. Our next meeting will be on Sunday, October 4, at 6:30pm at Redemption Hill. If you are interested in participating in the church plant, we especially encourage you to attend, but we also desire anyone in our church to join us as we work together towards this goal.
October 9-11 - Anchored in Hope College Retreat
Flint Hills Bible Church is hosting their yearly college and young adult retreat from October 9-11 at Youthfront Camp West in Edgerton, KS. This year the theme of the retreat is finding hope in the God of hope, who transcends our circumstances and inspires each of us both to receive and to give hope. The cost to attend the retreat is $100, and registration will be open until October 5.
October 17 - Stand Firm Conference
Ascend Church in Olathe, KS is holding a one-day event called the Stand Firm Men’s Conference on Saturday, October 17, from 8:00am to 3:30pm. The conference aims to challenge men to follow Christ’s example of mature manhood. Pastor JD will be speaking at this year's conference. The cost to attend is $50, and you can find out more and register by clicking the link below.
October 18 - Outdoor Youth Event
As the calendar turns to fall, our youth will gather on Sunday night, October 18, at 5:30pm for a night around a bonfire enjoying the autumn. We will roast hot dogs and s’mores, worship together around the fire, and pursue a biblical understanding of God’s Word. The Vansell's will host the bonfire at their home in Topeka. To RSVP, or to get the Vansell's address, please email us and notify us how many from your family will be attending.
October 24 - Men’s Theology Group
Our men are invited to join us on Saturday, October 24, at 7:00am as we begin a study through the book Spiritual Leadership by J. Oswald Sanders. This is a fantastic resource to help us think through the biblical calling of leadership in our lives. We encourage you to pick up a copy of the book in preparation for our time together.
October 25 - Ladies Fellowship
We are excited to meet again for another Ladies Fellowship! These events are a favorite and a great way to get to know other women in the church. We will fellowship over food, hear a testimony of how God has worked in someone's life, and break up into groups to pray for each other as we seek to grow as disciples of Christ. Please mark your calendar for October 25 from 6-8pm at the church.
