FIJI

The believers at Fiji Bible College are praising God for several blessings they have recently received. First, a church in Oklahoma has provided the school with funds to replace their worn-out regalia for the upcoming graduation. The previous outfits were over 40 years old, and the upcoming 50th graduation ceremony is the perfect time to introduce new garments. In addition, Premend Choy is praising God for provision from Mission Road Bible Church in Kansas City for funding an upcoming doctoral class at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Premend Choy also asks for prayer in several areas, some personal and some relating to the school. While in the states for his upcoming class, we can pray for his travel to visit some sending churches. We can also pray for his sister and father who were recently in a car accident that totalled the car and injured his family members. As the school year at Fiji Bible College comes to a close, Premend asks that we pray for the final class he is teaching and that he would be able to complete all the grading for which he is responsible. Lastly, we can join him in praising God for a grant that his daughter Charlene was given so that she can begin her college studies at UC San Diego.

HOW to pray

  • Pray to praise God for the financial gifts of multiple churches towards Fiji Bible College.

  • Pray to praise God for the grant Premend Choy’s daughter received.

  • Pray that Premend Choy’s sister and father would heal from their car accident.

  • Pray that Premend would have skill in teaching the year’s final class and would have time to finish his grading.

  • Pray for Dan and Tina Rudman as they travel to Fiji in October to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the school.

  • Pray that God would continue to use the faculty and graduates of Fiji Bible College to reach the many different islands of Fiji.

  • Pray that God would sustain the leaders of who minister in Fiji and the surrounding region:

    • Dr. Narayan Nair and family

    • President Premend Choy and family

    • Michael Seehusen and family.

Mexico

Brian and Danyel are praising God for Countryside’s provision of funds to renovate a building on the church property to allow it to be used during the summer. The heat is often unbearable in Sinaloa, with temperatures routinely over 100, sometimes over 110, and with humidity often near 100% as well. The church has an enclosed building that they use for Bible studies and other ministries, but it does not have air conditioning, which has made it increasingly uncomfortable to use. Countryside provided funds to allow the building to be air-conditioned, something that will significantly bless the church in Mexico.

Pastor Brian is traveling to Guanajuato, Mexico to participate in a pastoral training conference. He will teach 8 sessions there before continuing his travel to Monterrey in order to teach more students at a seminary. Pray for his energy while he travels and for fruit from his teaching.

How to pray

  • Pray that God would bless Pastor Brian as he teaches at his upcoming conferences.

  • Pray that God would continue blessing Iglesia Biblical Redencion in Los Mochis.

  • Pray that Tony de la Cruz and Yosimar Moya would continue to grow in their ministry at IBR.

  • Pray that God would continue to strengthen and grow the churches in Sinaloa.

  • Pray for Pastor Brian as he trains and equips church leaders both virtually and in person in Mexico.

  • Pray for Danyel as she joins her husband Brian in serving in various capacities in the church plant.

  • Pray for the entire team helping to plant the church in Los Mochis:

    • Pastor Brian Warne and wife Danyel

    • Pastor Antonio de la Cruz and wife Alicia

    • Pastoral Resident Tony de la Cruz, wife Avi, and family

    • Pastoral Resident Yosimar Moya, wife Paula, and family

    • Deacon Seth, wife Mavy, and family

    • Deacon Will, wife Jasmin, and family

Brazil

While Roger and Crystal have been back in the US, Roger was able to see several doctors about his Parkinson’s-like symptoms and is encouraged by the information he learned at these appointments. He is still struggling with his symptoms and seeking the best plan of action to deal with them and he appreciates prayers for him to find answers and to trust God.

Crystal’s mother Wanda is in the hospital with stage-4 lung cancer and her condition is growing worse. Please pray for Crystal as she spends time with her mother and helps during these difficult times.

How to pray

  • Pray that Crystal would be comforted in the midst of her mother Wanda’s failing health.

  • Pray that God would bless the new church plant in Gloria.

  • Pray for the youth in the church in Aracaju as they prepare to take a missions trip, specifically that God would bless their efforts to raise support.

  • Pray that God would develop many future leaders to aid in the ministry in Brazil.

  • Pray that Pastor Roger would have strength and patience to continue enduring his Parkinson’s symptoms and that doctors would have wisdom and skill in diagnosing and treating it. Specifically pray that the doctors who saw him in the states would be able to help him.

  • Pray for the leadership in Aracaju:

    • Pastor Roger Johansen.
