FIJI

Dan Rudman and a ministry partner at AFCI, Sam Pirrotta, spent a week in Fiji at the beginning of August. They arrived early in the morning and hit the ground running, with Dan preaching only a few hours after touching down. Dan and Sam spent the rest of the week teaching a class on Evangelism at Fiji Bible College. Redemption Hill sent many biblical books and resources with them, which they distributed to the pastors who attended the class. These pastors came to Fiji from many different nations and they benefitted from the training and the resources. Overall, it was a very beneficial time that will hopefully bear much fruit as the students return to their churches further equipped to share the gospel.

HOW to pray

  • Pray that the pastors who took Dan and Sam’s Evangelism class would put it into practice and that God would save many through their ministry.

  • Pray for Dan’s return to Fiji in October to preach and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the school.

  • Pray that God would continue to use the faculty and graduates of Fiji Bible College to reach the many different islands of Fiji.

  • Pray that God would sustain the leaders of who minister in Fiji and the surrounding region:

    • Dr. Narayan Nair and family

    • President Premend Choy and family

    • Michael Seehusen and family.

Mexico

Brian and Danyel are praising God for the ways he is working in the church in Los Mochis, Iglesia Biblica Redencion. The church has now grown to have 26 adult members and a total of 55-60 people attending each Sunday.

In addition to growing the church numerically, God has also seen fit to grow the church spiritually through young leaders Tony de la Cruz and Yosimar Moya. These men have both been pursuing seminary education for several years and have been serving as pastoral residents in the IBR as they prepare for ministry. The church hopes to bring both of them on as pastors in the near future. Developing and training new leaders is one of the biggest needs for any church, especially a church plant, and so we are greatly praising God for his provision in this way.

How to pray

  • Pray that God would continue blessing Iglesia Biblical Redencion in Los Mochis.

  • Pray that Tony de la Cruz and Yosimar Moya would continue to grow in their ministry at IBR.

  • Pray that God would continue to strengthen and grow the churches in Sinaloa.

  • Pray for Pastor Brian as he trains and equips church leaders both virtually and in person in Mexico.

  • Pray for Danyel as she joins her husband Brian in serving in various capacities in the church plant.

  • Pray for the entire team helping to plant the church in Los Mochis:

    • Pastor Brian Warne and wife Danyel

    • Pastor Antonio de la Cruz and wife Alicia

    • Pastoral Resident Tony de la Cruz, wife Avi, and family

    • Pastoral Resident Yosimar Moya, wife Paula, and family

    • Deacon Seth, wife Mavy, and family

    • Deacon Will, wife Jasmin, and family

Brazil

Roger and Crystal are back in the United States for a time and are glad to be back for multiple reasons. They are especially excited to be here for the birth of another grandchild, the third child of their oldest son Josh and his wife Emma. They hope to meet this new child any day!

Roger is still dealing with symptoms similar to Parkinson’s. He is hoping to see a neurologist at KU to seek a more precise diagnosis and discuss more treatment options. He is currently taking some medicine that helps somewhat, but doctors have not been able to provide him with any options that could cure him.

Roger is praising God that the church plant in Aracaju is going well, as God is growing the people there. Several youth in the church are hoping to take a missions trip in the near future and are currently raising funds each week to help cover their costs.

Roger has also been helping with a new church plant in Gloria, a city in the interior of Brazil and hopes that God will bless and grow the work there. Between the various churches Roger is connected to, he is pleased with the amount of men God has provided for potential future ministry. Still, until they can become more prepared, the amount of ministry opportunities is exceeding the ability of the church to meet them.

How to pray

  • Pray that God would bless the new church plant in Gloria.

  • Pray for the youth in the church in Aracaju as they prepare to take a missions trip, specifically that God would bless their efforts to raise support.

  • Pray that God would develop many future leaders to aid in the ministry in Brazil.

  • Pray that Pastor Roger would have strength and patience to continue enduring his Parkinson’s symptoms and that doctors would have wisdom and skill in diagnosing and treating it. Specifically pray that he would be able to see a neurologist while he is in the states and get more answers.

  • Pray for the leadership in Aracaju:

    • Pastor Roger Johansen.

    • Pastor Eriomar Maia.

    • Pastor Marcos.
