Countryside Church, which has sent both the Johansensn and the Warnes as missionaries, posted this recent video update from Pastor Roger and Pastor Brian.

brazil

Pastor Roger is thankful for ministry both inside and outside the church. Inside, the church has started a new discipleship ministry where young adults in the body are ministering to 10 to 12-year-olds. Pray that this would yield fruit for all those involved and that the children and young adults would both understand the nature of discipleship and following Jesus. Outside, the church is still involved in evangelism in Gloria, a community 2 hours away where they are working on planting a church. The church is also praying for God to raise up two men to plant two more churches in Aracaju, where the Johansens currently live. Additionally, a young couple is considering whether God would have them move to Italy to be involved in church planting. Pray for each of these church planting opportunities.

How to pray

  • Pray that God would grow the church in Aracaju.

  • Pray that God would use the young adult ministry to 10-12 year olds to grow and mature them both.

  • Pray that God would bless the church planting efforts in Gloria and Aracaju and for the couple considering church planting in Italy.

  • Pray that Pastor Roger would have strength and patience to continue enduring his Parkinson’s symptoms.

  • Pray for the leadership in Aracaju and Gloria:

    • Pastor Roger Johansen.

    • Pastor Eriomar Maia.

    • Pastor Marcos.

FIJI

Dr. Nair at Fiji Bible College recently shared this update about the beginning of the school year:

We are delighted to welcome back our resident students at both Fiji Bible College and the Ambassadors Vocational School as a new academic year begins. We are also thankful for new first-year students who have joined us and are beginning their journey of full-time biblical study. This year, we have four new resident first-year students—two from the Solomon Islands and two from Fiji. Our prayer is that they would behold wonderful things from the Word of God, rejoice in the God of their salvation, grow deeper in the love of Christ, and be equipped to share that love with others.

Student orientation took place on the 14th of January, with classes beginning on the 19th of January. We thank the Lord for a good start to the year and ask for His continued help as the semester unfolds.

HOW to pray

  • Pray that God would bless the new and returning students at Fiji Bible College as they begin the academic year.

  • Pray that God would bless and grow Nadi Bible Church.

  • Pray that God would provide for the financial needs of the Bible College.

  • Pray that God would sustain the leaders who minister in Fiji and the surrounding region:

    • Dr. Narayan Nair and family

    • Michael Seehusen and family

Mexico

Recently, Pastor Brian and Danyel invited Pastor Joshua Johansen and his family down to Sinaloa for a time of mutual encouragement. Pastor Brian traveled with Pastor Joshua to Mozambique last year to help prepare for the Johansen’s desire to plant churches there, and this second trip to Mexico was also helpful for Josh and his family to learn from the Warnes and their church planting experience. It was a beneficial time for the Johansens and for the ministry in Mexico, as Pastor Joshua preached in a church service and joined Pastor Brian in a variety of ministry opportunities.

Pastor Brian is preparing for the Proclama conference at end of March. This will be held in Peru and will seek to train pastors from Peru and Honduras. In Sinaloa, Pastor Brian praises God for several men growing in ministry and biblical training. In Los Mochis, a young man has recently moved from Chihuahua to serve as a Pastoral Resident. In Mochicahui, Luis is preparing for ministry, and the church’s 6 deacons and another young man are doing a class on hermeneutics so they can grow in their biblical exegesis and exposition.

This week, Pastor Brian and Danyel are beginning an extended trip throughout the states. They will begin in Sonora, Arizona to visit ministry partners, then to Virginia to see family. Pastor Brian will then travel to California to attend the Shepherd’s Conference. Please pray for their various travels.

How to pray

  • Pray that God would bless the upcoming Proclama conference in Peru.

  • Pray that God would work through the various men training in areas of ministry and biblical interpretation.

  • Pray for Pastor Brian and Danyel as they travel in the next few weeks.

  • Pray that God would grow and bless Iglesia Biblica Redencion in Los Mochis.

  • Pray that God would continue to strengthen and grow the churches in Sinaloa.

  • Pray for Pastor Brian as he trains and equips church leaders in Mexico, Honduras, and Peru both virtually and in person.

  • Pray for the entire team helping to plant the church in Los Mochis:

    • Pastor Brian Warne and wife Danyel

    • Pastor Antonio de la Cruz and wife Alicia

    • Pastoral Resident Tony de la Cruz, wife Avi, and family

    • Pastoral Resident Yosimar Moya, wife Paula, and family

    • Deacon Seth, wife Mavy, and family

    • Deacon Will, wife Jasmin, and family
