What does Genesis have to do with Christmas? Everything. In Genesis, we see the beginnings of God’s promise, the first reason for hope. God promises that one will come who will conquer the enemy. This offspring will bring blessing to all who are united to him by faith. And he will simultaneously reign as sovereign king over all the world. This saving, conquering, blessing offspring is Jesus, born as a baby at Christmas. Let us rejoice in hope!
