Christmas time is often celebrated and sung about as one of happiness, cheer, and good spirits. But we find that this is often not the case. Isaiah 9 reminds us of the backdrop of an essential Messianic prophecy that illuminates our celebration of Christmas today: That out of the gloom and darkness, the Wonderful one, the incredibly wise Counselor, the only Mighty God, our Eternal Father, the Prince of Peace - he has come.
