The Fourth Commandment: Honor the Sabbath

Exodus 20:8-11 | JD Summers

God's instruction about the Sabbath is one of the most misunderstood of the 10 Commandments. While the Church, under a different covenant, relates differently to the Sabbath regulations than the nation of Israel did, the Sabbath is eternally important to believers today. As we consider God's rest in creation and the rest he enjoyed and secured for the Church by his work on the cross, we should be moved to rest ourselves, and to worship our Savior.
