What is revival? It is a reawakening, a coming back to life, a rising from the dead. Revival depends absolutely on the power of Christ, and any emotional experience not driven by his Spirit is not true revival. It also requires a response to Christ’s Word. We must obey his call and respond to the gospel. And revival anticipates the approval of Christ, so let us look forward to the joyous celebration with which he will welcome us after we turn from our sin, trust in Christ, and follow him completely!
