Fellowship with a Holy God
Leviticus 2-3 | JD Summers
Eating together is a significant theme in Scripture, indicating peace, fellowship, and shared joy with one another. In the sacrificial system, God prescribes certain sacrifices as a means of sharing a meal with his people. This fellowship is secured by atonement, the sacrifice for our sins that enables us to draw near to God. And this fellowship brings honor to God as the community of his people celebrates the reconciliation God has secured for them. We find the epitome of this fellowship with God in Jesus Christ, who dwelt among us, gave himself for us, and unites himself to us, making peace on our behalf through his life, death, and resurrection.
