brazil
Pastor Roger recently shared about a busy few weeks in Brazil:
We are thankful for mission trips! We took our youth from Aracaju to the most southern state in Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul. Southern Brazil actually gets cold, so our youth had a little cultural shock with the weather and wearing jackets, etc… Southern Brazil has a large German and Italian influence as well. Our youth did a great job of street evangelism, and leading services. One youth from the local church said it was the best youth meeting that he has ever been to. The leadership of the local church was really encouraged, and our youth were very thankful to be an encouragement in missions in southern Brazil.

Three days after our youth mission trip, we received a youth mission trip from Countryside from Overland Park, Kansas. Twenty people arrived to do street evangelism, special youth meetings, kid’s programs, special testimonies, sing, preaching, and fellowship. It was a great time of getting to see what God has been doing in northeast Brazil. One youth shared that it was worth every cent to be exposed and a part of missions.

Mission trips ought to exalt God, evangelize the lost, and edify the church. Pray that these young people and that the church be edified from these mission trips. Pray that the lessons they learned mold their lives to be more like Christ and that they be used for missions worldwide.
As things in the church settle down after a busy time of missions trips, Roger asks for prayer in additional areas. It is currently the rainy season in Brazil, and that brings with it significant sickness, affecting many in the church. Pray also for Pastor Eriormar who is on furlough in Northern Brazil.
How to pray
Pray for fruit from the recent missions trips, both in the lives of those on the trips and those who heard the gospel as a result of their ministry.
Pray that God would give good health to those in the church during this rainy season.
Pray that Pastor Eriomar’s time on furlough would be profitable to him and to those to whom he ministers.
Pray that God would allow Crystal to have an effective ministry with the kids and women in the church.
Pray that God would save Erasmo.
Pray that Pastor Roger would have strength and patience to continue enduring his Parkinson’s symptoms.
Pray for the leadership in Aracaju and Gloria:
Pastor Roger Johansen.
Pastor Eriomar Maia.
Pastor Marcos.
FIJI
Pastor JD and Dan Rudman recently travelled to Fiji and Vanuatu to preach, teach, and fellowship with believers and pastors there. Pastor JD shared about his trip at a recent Wednesday night fellowship, and you can listen to that here. You can also view images from their trip below.
Before Pastor JD and Dan visited, Fiji Bible College participated in the Suva Pastors Conference, where 120 Christian workers attended and were taught about Bible Exposition. Pray for fruit from this event.
The new school year is underway at the college and the 21 residential students and over 120 online students are hard at work. Pray specifically for the 7 new first-year Bible College students as they begin their time at the school. Speaking of the school, work has begun to correct and reinforce several buildings on the campus that were affected by termites, but much more work is required. Pray that God would provide the funds to complete this work.
HOW to pray
Pray that God would bless the students at Fiji Bible College as they begin their new school year.
Pray that God would continue to heal Premend after his cardiac arrest and that God would grant him wisdom as he plans for the future.
Pray that God would provide for the financial needs of the Bible College.
Pray that God would sustain the leaders who minister in Fiji and the surrounding region:
Dr. Narayan Nair and family
President Premend Choy and family
Michael Seehusen and family

In July, Pastoral Resident César moved to Sinaloa to join in the Culiacán church planting team. Pastor Brian praises God for César’s ordination as a pastor on July 13 and looks forward to how God will use Pastor César in the ministry in Culiacán. Pastor Brian and Danyel are currently in Peru until the end of the month, ministering to six church planting pastoral families in five different churches. Pray for God to give both of them strength and endurance during this trip, and also that God would bless their time and use it to produce fruit in the church in Peru.
