Truthful speech honors God, reflects his character, and shows love for our neighbor. Our testimony about others must be truthful before God, upholding justice. Bearing false witness perverts justice and brings despair. We must have a wholehearted commitment to speaking the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
