Self-Control

Obstacles abound in our pursuit of self control. We live in a culture of indulgence, our natures crave fulfillment, and our minds and hearts must constantly be directed back to the truth. But by the grace of God, we have the power to be disciplined, sensible, and sober-minded. Let us fiercely pursue the fear of the Lord by hating out sin, putting up a fight against it, repenting of sinful actions, thoughts, and desires, and looking to Christ for the eternal reward which will follow when we practice self-control.
