What can we do when we look at ourselves and find that we are not useful to God? The description of the stark spiritual state of Laodicea should drive us to fear God as the one who sees and evaluates hearts, and that fear should drive us to deeper faith and repentance. Let us turn from our sin and turn to Christ in response to the grace he offers us in his Word!
