In the opening words of Exodus, the stage is set for a great drama; one that will reveal the glory and purpose of God, form a nation, and establish a paradigm for God's plan of salvation. Though the chosen family entered Egypt numbering only 70, their presence there is evidence of God's promise, his providence, and his great purpose.
