Why did Jesus come? Why did he have to come? The answer lies partially with us - in our sinfulness, we needed someone who could represent us and pass the test we cold not. We needed a substitute who could offer acceptable atonement for our sin. We needed someone who could resolve the problem of death by going through it to overcome it. But Jesus came for another reason, to reign in righteousness. His first coming foreshadows his second coming, and even now he is growing his kingdom in preparation for his all encompassing, eternal reign.
