In James 1:9-12 we learn that no matter our financial or social status in this life, joyful perseverance is made possible by faith in future grace. Eternal reward is coming for those who love God and persevere to the end, and it is this perspective that helps us rejoice and endure the trials of lack and loss. Let's set our minds on things above this week and keep running the race!

Listen to Joyfully Persevering

This week we will be walking through James 1:13-18. Take a few minutes to read through this text and consider:

  • In what ways does this text urge us to think about temptation?
  • Why can God not be the source of temptation?
  • How might we be deceived in regards to our view of sin and temptation?
  • How does verse 17 equip us to fight temptation?

Pray that God's word would be made clear, that our minds and hearts would be affected, that our faith would be strengthened, and that those who do not know Christ would hear the call to repent and believe in the gospel.

Below are the songs we will be singing together on Sunday. Use this as a resource to learn unfamiliar songs, to meditate on Christ-centered truth throughout the week, and teach your children songs that will fill their minds and shape their hearts.
