Last week Pastor JD expounded the concept of God's love revealed in the incarnation. We so often hear of the importance of love around Christmas, but the truest and fullest expression of love is found in God sending Jesus to be the propitiation for our sins. May we never doubt that God loves us - he has proven it once and for all in the incarnation.
This week, meditate on the truth of God's love for you and spend some time praising and thanking him for his unconditional favor towards you.
PREPARING TO HEAR
On Sunday we will conclude our mini series on the incarnation by considering how God's light is revealed in the incarnation. The God who said "Let there be light" in the midst of physical darkness sent Jesus to bring light in the midst of our spiritual darkness. To prepare for this Sunday, read and think about the following texts:
- Matthew 4:12-17 How must we respond to seeing God's light?
- John 3:19-21 What is our natural response to seeing God's light?
- Revelation 21:21-23 What is God's light?
Let's pray that God's word is clearly proclaimed and received on Sunday. Pray for believers to be encouraged and strengthened, for unbelievers to be drawn to Christ, and for God to be glorified in all we do.
