IN REFLECTION

On Sunday JD challenged us that if we are going to fulfill God's mission to glorify him by being and making disciples of Jesus, we must maintain our focus on the gospel. We can never move on from the gospel, but rather into a deeper understanding of the gospel. It must color and motivate all that we do in fulfilling God's mission.

Take some time to consider what the gospel means to you. Do you value it? Does it motivate you?

Listen to Mission Refresh: The Centrality of the Gospel

PREPARING TO HEAR

This Sunday we will focus on the centrality of the gospel to our mission. We cannot glorify God by being and making disciples of Jesus if we do not have the gospel. While it may seem like the gospel is just the introduction to the Christian life, we must never move on from the gospel. To prepare for the message this Sunday, read 2 Corinthians 5:11-21 and think about the following:

  • How can we abide in Christ?
  • What is the fruit that we should desire to bear?
  • Does verse 7 teach that God will give us whatever we want?
  • What are the purposes of remaining in Christ?

Let's pray that God's word is clearly proclaimed and received on Sunday. Pray for believers to be encouraged and strengthened, for unbelievers to be drawn to Christ, and for God to be glorified in all we do.
